I have been thinking about a personal project of mine that is stalled out and patiently waiting for me to revive it. But since I have been enjoying revisiting Neurographic art, I decided to use the project as a topic for one of the algorithms. It is amazing how doing mindful drawing on a topic can open new lines of thinking and gently remind you to get back on track. Because you are drawing lines with no pressure you have time to let your mind wander and it helps settle and organize racing thoughts.
This particular algorithm had me consider various resources that I have to help me with my project which is always a good reminder that I am never alone in a venture. I have knowledge, skills, and people beside me.

As I continued, I was working on coloring the shapes thoughtfully which made me think of the feelings behind each color as I chose it. I started with Orange and realized it would represent creativity. Then I worked with magenta to bring in cheerfulness. This was followed by purple to represent my passion and dedication to the project. When I chose the yellow I had the feeling of a warm sunbeam and the joy of a summer day. Next, the pale creamy yellow felt like the contented feeling of the first light hitting the walls on a lazy Sunday morning. Turquoise green is like something that never lets you down, like your favorite sweater or a card from a friend. Lime is the fresh feeling of dew on the grass or a new bud about to bloom.

Funny thing is that the next morning I realized that when I had been trying to get back to working on my project, I had forgotten the joy. I got caught up in the details and the over-thinking and the logic of it all. In trying to get everything perfect, I forgot the flow and the reasons I started the project to begin with. I forgot about enjoying it giving it a light-heartedness. No wonder my poor project was languishing. I needed to remember the joy I felt when I started it and not attack it like a work project. Soon I will be revisiting my project with fresh eyes and a new start.
